Mechanical Engineering Emphasis: University Parallel, A.S. (TTP)
|
|
The Mechanical Engineering emphasis is designed to prepare students for transfer to a bachelor’s degree granting institution. This program is designed to create a smooth transition for students to continue their education to earn a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
Summary of Required Hours
1Students who seek an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree should take the history sequence required by the senior institution. For UT system universities, one course in Tennessee History may be substituted for one course in American History.
2Students may complete MATH 2050 - Calculus-Based Probability and Statistics instead of MATH 2010 - Introduction to Linear Algebra .
Students are encouraged to complete a course in Mechanics of Materials, also known as Strength of Materials, before transferring to a university. This course is not offered by Cleveland State.
Courses in engineering technology do not fulfill any of the requirements for the Civil Engineering Emphasis: University Parallel, A.S. (TTP).
Although it is possible to complete the B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering in four semesters after earning the Associate’s degree, students typically need five or six semesters to complete requirements.
