General Technology, A.A.S.

This program is designed for students who wish to complete a two-year technical degree applicable to immediate employment. Students with a significant amount of transfer credit, students with a diploma from a Tennessee College of Applied Technology, certificate completers or those who wish to use electives to create a unique program should consider this concentration.

The concentration is subdivided into two concentrations.

Applied Technology Concentration: General Technology, A.A.S.


This flexible concentration provides opportunities for students to specialize in any one of a variety of technical areas. The general education core and technical core provide a foundation that allows specialization through selection of career/technical electives.

This is a technical program designed to prepare students for employment. This program is not a transfer program, although many institutions accept all or part of the course work toward the bachelor’s degree.

1Students transferring in with completed diplomas from a Tennessee College of Applied Technology will receive credit for noted classes. Other students will take the courses as outlined in the curriculum.

2In consultation with academic advisor, students may select electives that meet career/college degree requirements.

3MATH 1200 - Trigonometry  will not fulfill the general education requirement. In consultation with academic advisor, student may select appropriate Mathematics/Natural Sciences elective .

4In consultation with academic advisor, students may select appropriate Humanities/Fine Arts and Social/Behavioral Sciences elective .

 

Business Technology Concentration: General Technology, A.A.S.

This is an occupational program designed to equip students for employment. This program is not a transfer program, although many institutions accept all or part of the course work toward the bachelor’s degree.
