MATH 1530 - Introductory Statistics

♦ Statistics for business, education, nursing and other disciplines; data types; sampling methods; qualitative and quantitative methods; regression and correlation; measures of central tendency and variability; estimation; probability; permutations and combinations; binomial distribution; confidence intervals; standard normal distribution; hypothesis testing for population mean and proportion; analysis of variance and solving applications. Graphing calculator required - see course syllabus for details. Three hours lecture per week. (Prerequisite(s): Two years of high school algebra or all required learning support math courses.)
