Pre-Medical Technology Emphasis: University Parallel, A.S.


The following curriculum guide reflects the core graduation requirements, but does not provide the transfer student with all of the prerequisites for junior level courses. Please consult the footnotes and the preprofessional advisor.

This is a transfer program and upon completion students may apply for admission to professional colleges of medicine or health sciences to continue to work toward degrees or senior institutions of higher education in continuing preparation for such application. Consult the medical technology requirements of the institutions to which you might apply.

1Some senior institutions require additional biology courses, including BIOL 1130 - General Biology III  or the BIOL 2010 - Human Anatomy and Physiology I  and BIOL 2020 - Human Anatomy and Physiology II  sequence.

2Some senior institutions require additional math courses and some require MATH 1910 - Calculus I  and MATH 1920 - Calculus II .

3Some senior institutions also require PHYS 2020 - Non-calculus Based Physics II  while others require PHYS 2110 - Calculus Based Physics I  and PHYS 2120 - Calculus Based Physics II .

4Students who seek an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree should take the history sequence required by the senior institution.  For UT system universities, one course in Tennessee History may be substituted for one course in American History.
