Electromechanical Technology, A.A.S.

The Electromechanical Technology, A.A.S. prepares students for careers in manufacturing companies as multi-craft, industrial facility, machinery maintenance and repair technicians. The curriculum integrates electrical and mechanical elements, including print reading, machine shop practices, fluid power applications, mechanical power transmission, industrial electricity, AC and DC motors and programmable logic controllers (PLCs). In addition, courses place emphasis on safety, teamwork, communication skills and efficient work practices as well as critical thinking skills for inquiry and analysis, assimilation of facts and knowledge, and problem solving.

This is a technical degree designed for immediate employment in advanced manufacturing and is not designed for transfer although some four-year institutions may accept part of the coursework toward the bachelor degree.

1If the student is transferring to a college or university with which the Advanced Technologies Department has an articulation agreement, the student should take MATH 1910 - Calculus I .

2In consultation with academic advisor, students may select appropriate Humanities/Fine Arts  and Social/Behavioral Science  electives.

3If the student is transferring to a college or university with which the Advanced Technologies Department has an articulation agreement, the student should take PHYS 2110 - Calculus Based Physics I .

4In consultation with academic advisor, students may select electives that meet career/college degree requirements (CISP, CITC, CPED, CST, EETC, ENST, INFS, INT, MECH, METC).
