The Sociology emphasis is designed to prepare students for transfer to a bachelor’s degree granting institution. The degree prepares students for more advanced study in a pathway through which they can pursue career opportunities related to Sociology.

1Students who seek an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree should take the history sequence required by the senior institution.  For UT system universities, one course in Tennessee History may be substituted for one course in American History.

2UT Martin requires a Natural Science sequence.

3Universities will determine whether the sociology elective course counts toward requirements of the Sociology major or as elective credit applied to the requirements of the baccalaureate degree.
