Medical transcriptionists are language specialists, specifically trained to work in hospital, clinical or remote settings, who are capable of audio interpretation and machine transcription of multi-dictator, multi-specialty medical records.

Summary of Required Hours

¹Cooperative Education placements in the medical field must be prearranged with the Cooperative Education Office before students can enroll in the course. The academic advisor will help determine when the student is prepared for his/her internship.

²In consultation with academic advisor, students may select appropriate Humanities/Fine Arts and Social/Behavioral Sciences electives .
